The Country Pool
If your child is interested in becoming a better swimmer, having fun, making friends, and competing, then you will love The Country Pool Swim Team! Our summer swim team is a great social and athletic opportunity for swimmers to learn and grow through the sport of swimming. The more participants we have, the more success and fun we have, as a team and as individual swimmers! Come be a part of the fun!
Our swim team participates in the Princeton Area Swimming and Diving Association (PASDA) summer swim league. Over the past few summers, the team has continued to grow and now has approximately 90 members. Our head coach, Todd Robinson, is a lifelong competitive swimmer, coach, and teacher, and is returning for his seventh season as head coach.
The 2017 summer swim season begins on May 30th and continues through July 27th. Each summer, the team competes in 4-5 dual meets (held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings) against other PASDA swim teams during late June and July as well as two invitational meets (10&Under swim meet and the PASDA Championship swim meet for all ages).
Swimmers must be able to swim a length of the pool (unassisted) to participate on the team. Beginner swimmers will learn how to swim the four different competitive strokes, starts, finishes, turns, and how to race! Experienced swimmers will continue to build their knowledge and skill at the different strokes, turns, and finishes through practice and coach instruction. We have two coaches on deck at each practice to teach and assist the swimmers. Every swimmer practices every day, Monday through Friday, and is eligible to compete in swim meets. The team runs a few social events as well, including the pancake breakfast and the season ending awards picnic. Each year we also organize and participate in a swim-a-thon fundraising event to benefit a local charity.
Swimmer and Parent Participation Requirements:
Swimmers ages 5-17 are eligible to participate
Swimmers MUST be able to swim the full length of the pool to join the swim team.
Meet participation is expected
Parents are required to work at the swim meets.
As a competitive swim team, participation and attendance at practices and meets is part of being on the team and is very important to your child’s and our team’s success. We have approximately 100 spots on the team and to be competitive we need everyone’s participation. Please make sure that you can participate before registering for the team. While we understand that situations arise, an effort to participate fully is highly encouraged and appreciated.
